Hi.
Could someone kindly explain the meaning of the message:
"Order is not filled within the specified bar"
This I observed while auto-trading symbol AA via Interactive Brokers (paper account, if that matters).
It was observed at the time an order should have fired (apparently it did), and the result was that the order was not filled on the chart (or anywhere).
A picture of the AutoTrading setup at the time is attached.
I note that in the same workspace, other charts of GOOG using the same strategy filled as intended when their orders were placed.
Thanks in advance!

Hi MC_Prog,
Are you using Limit order in your strategy? Also, in your image file, you have not checked the boxes to convert unexecuted unexecuted limit/stop entry (exit) orders to market order after X seconds.
If you are usinglimit order, take a look at the scenario 2 on my previous post:

If we're talking about a limit order here, are you wanting it to remain unfilled in your strategy if the broker didn't get you a fill, even though you've chosen to get market data from the chart rather than the broker in your setup? The scenario in question could be that the limit order was "touched" but it was on the wrong side of the spread at the broker, and thus you didn't get a fill (despite that in simulation, you probably would have) - the question is, when that happens, what do you want it to do (remain unfilled in the strategy, or convert to market)?
Thanks for your replies.
It so happens these were market or stop orders.
Given:
"Order is not filled within the specified bar"
my questions are:
What order?
What bar?
Basically I find the message next to useless, and I'm hoping for an explanation of it, and/or a replacement with a more informative message.
As it is, might as well just say:
"Alert - something didn't happen!"
