Hi guys.
Let me request, again, a new feature for PLE.
I've assembled a new computer, and just finished to install all the software.
I paste all MC data folders do the new computer and for my surprise I noticed that PLE still not save the folders that we create to store our own indicators and signals
I usually have around 10 folders, each with several indicators.
Since PLE also continues to not have the copy/paste option to move indicators and signals between the folders, only by dragging, and even this works really bad, it's going to be another adventure to drag them to the new folders, that I need to create, again.
I know that due to the competition "war", there are probably features and enhancements more important than this one, but since our signals and indicators are our bread and water, they should not be forgotten.
Regards,
Fernando

Dear Fernando,
I have forwarded your feature request to the developers.

Fernando and Dave,
I believe the feature you are talking about is implemented, but not documented anywhere - I found it while reinstalling Multicharts on my old PC (there were no instructions on how to backup at that time).
When doing MultiCharts back-up, you'll also need to copy the content of the following folder:
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\TS Support\MultiCharts\PLEditor\
The configuration of all custom folders created in the PLEditor are stored in the "custom_folders.bin" file located in the above location. Once this file copied to a new PC, all custom created folders are restored.
Dave,
Is there any reason not to keep the PL Editor configuration "custom_folders.bin" file in "All Users" profile? Same applies to Prebuilt workspaces... for backup and support convenience.
Might also be a good idea to update this knowledgebase online document:
http://www.multicharts.com/support/base ... le&id=2028. Not sure if there are any other places that need to be updated as well.
While looking at the above document I noticed a dead link pointing to "Import & export studies online tutorial" http://www.tssupport.com/products/multi ... tudies.htm.
As an afterthought, I was going to submit this issue via new online "Project Management/Bug report" but found no suitable category for this issue... As a result - reporting it here instead for convenience. May be a new "Documentation" category, or similar could be added to PM.

Re: PLE feature request for version 7
Nice Pavel.
You just made this Sunday a very happy one
This is really a time saver.
Now the only thing that needs to be fixed is the copy/paste option that continues to be missed when moving/rearrange the folders/indicators.
Thanks,
Fernando

Glad it helped you also.Nice Pavel.
This is really a time saver.
It is, indeed a time saver. I've walked that path before.
Last time (long time ago) I was creating folders and sorting studies, and had difficulty sorting them into alphabetical order. For some reason items in folders would not follow an alphabetical order, then would change the order all of a sudden. I don't have details now, as it was very long time ago, but I remeber clearly that sorting did not work proprerly. It was one of those rare cases where I did not bother to report an issue because of higher priorities at a time. Anyways, may be it's time for developers to take a close look at PL Editor. Also to my knowledge this problem has not been discussed on the forum anywhere before, hence this might be the case for creation of a new ticket in the project management.
Regards,
Pavel

Custom Folder in PLE
Laurent,Hi,

To create custom folders in PLE:
1. Open studies pane
2. Select where you want to create your new folder
3. Right mouse click > Add > New Folder
Studies and folders also can also be organized by dragging & dropping.
Best,
Pavel
