Hello
I got a slow refresh screen on my MC window. Moving the mouse over it is not fluid. The problem is seen only on MC window and when MC chart is over a screen driven by my graphic card.
My PC:
Processor:Q6600 2.4mhz
6 gig ram
Windows 7 64
Graphic card :Asus EAH 4870 1 gb with DDR5 ( a 3y old gamer card)
My system as 4 screens
2 driven by the Graphic card
2 driven by USB to DVI external graphic card.
This is an intermittent problem. Once it appeared, The refresh on MC chart is slow. Moving the mouse is not fluid. If I move the window with MC chart over a screen driven by an external graphic card, fluidity is there
What could cause that?
Testing my system show nothing wrong
- All drivers updated
What is most likely to cause the problem? I suspect the graphic card. But test done with it show no problem. Could it be a driver problem?
Any input or idea appreciated
Martin

When it happens, hit "cntrl alt del" together and check cpu performance graph, it's likely very high (+50%).. You may have a study using too much cpu time, you might have to reduce the number of days of data loaded or check the study code..
Be sure to use MC8 beta2 64 bit..

Hello
OK, I will try that
For the moment, I can't use the new MC 64 because I use some external DLL and I would then need to upgrade them to. And it cost $$$
A catch 22.... A need to proof that I could make money with the market before spending new money.... Since, this problem is annoying, but not fatal, I will choose to wait for the 64

How many wsp? charts? bars in the chart?
Do you have many tick charts? with small ticks? lots of history?
Did this just happened recently?
Did this happened after you have made some changes to indicators?
Do you have lots of indicator drawn objects? trendlines, texts, arrows, etc?

I got the same problem since about 2 months. Problem do occur only when the chart is display with one of my screen driven by my graphic card
I use 175 second chart with less than 3000 bars at the moments
- 2 instruments
- 5 studies
- Use external communication with Excel using DLL
- Use Global variables via DLL
- There is draw object like rectangle, dot ( from studies) and text (from studies)
Again, problem is not seen if MC window is placed over a screen driven by an external graphic card. So the problem reside in a conflict between MC and my graphic card. Maybe a memory leak because the problem is resolve if I restart my PC without letting it to cool down.

What make/model is the graphics card?
I do not have an answer. You might have to go online with the tech support.

Martin, when this problem occurs please start the Windows Task Manager and go to Processes tab.
Please make a screenshot of this tab so that all MultiCharts processes are visible and post the image on forum.

Resolve: MC window slow to refresh on my graphic card screen
MC as nothing to do with the problem
I got the same problem when I use the same screen in the PowerLanguage Editor and a chart is removed
Probably a technical problem with my graphic card itself. Or a driver problem.

Did you update the video graphics driver recently? (or your machine is on autoupdate?)MC as nothing to do with the problem

New drivers can cause unexpected behavior.

I would recommend rolling back to the old version of drivers when you have not experienced the issue.Hello

Resolve: MC window slow to refresh on my graphic card screen
Problem resolve
I change my graphic card. Even if it was a gamer card, it look like this one was defective while MC was over is screen. I bought a new one and finally, all is smooth.
Just hope that result will be permanent. Other wise, i would have to get a new PC...
