Hi
I have a graphing problem when displaying daily SPY as Data1 on top and ^VIX as Data2 below. When I do this, the OHLC bars do not line up (they are offset by 1 bar) and I see duplicated dates in the X Axis.
I don't have this problem when displaying data from the same exchange. I thought this might be due local vs exchange time zone being used, but I've exhausted that.
I couldn't find anything on this in the Forum, any help would be appreciated.

Can you post a screenshot? (make it a full screen with all the details and in high resolution).

TJ
The resolution is Days.
I'm using Yahoo for my data source.
You'll see that the day bars do not line up and that the Days of the Month are duplicated on the X-Axis.
Thanks

Re: Data1 and Data2 do not line up in Chart Window
I have just made the same chart of the same instruments,
my bars are lined up with no problem.
I have experimented with different sessions, but the charts still line up.
I don't know where your problem is; please delete the chart and try again to see if it makes a difference.
Please check the computer time vs session time.

Re: Data1 and Data2 do not line up in Chart Window
It is good to hear that all is well.TJ
Thanks for your suggestion.
In the end I deleted ^VIX and reloaded the data from Yahoo again.
Magically it worked fine this time...
Not sure why or what I did
Thanks for the update. Good trading to you.

Re: Data1 and Data2 do not line up in Chart Window [SOLVED]
MultiCharts aligns bars by time. You need to have the same session end time in order the daily bars to line up.
Go to Format->Instrument->Settings tab->check what Session is selected for the chart.
If it is set to "Default" then go to MultiCharts->File->New->QuoteManager window->double click on the symbol you need->Sessions tab->you can modify the session time here.
If a custom session template is used go to MultiCharts->File->New->QuoteManager window->Tools->Session templates.
You need to reload the chart in order to write the bars with the correct timestamp to the database.

Re: Data1 and Data2 do not line up in Chart Window
I am having the same problem. I am using real time SPY and VIX from IB, and I cannot get them to line up. Both are set to Local and, per Henry's suggestion, I have put them on the same session template. This is not merely aesthetic - studies running on VIX run one day behind. Any ideas?

Analyst, if your case looks the same way as this case - then the fix for it will be implemented in the next version of MultiCharts.
