We are using TS as our primary data source, and we notice we have to be careful not to run into its throttling behavior -- we ask for too much historical data at once, and it kicks us out for the awhile, and then we can continue. Our issue is that MC seems to lose its ability to recover from this scenario -- we can leave it "stuck" for hours, and no new data ever starts to come in again, and new charts requesting data for the same symbol get stuck in a "connecting" state. When this happens, the "reliable" way to reconnect to TS is to completely shut down all MultiCharts components, and restart them. This is a hassle, especially since we're trying to trade 20+ markets, and it takes quite some time to get everything up and ready to trade. It is important to note that we can trigger this behavior with no studies running -- simply request a lot of historical data from TS in a short amount of time.
Obviously, I'll be bringing this issue up with TS as well, asking things like can we configure it so that it doesn't kill connections. The ask to MultiCharts is specifically about how I can control MultiCharts to help respond to breaks / drops in connections for a symbol -- Is there a way to more easily "kick" MultiCharts so it refreshes or reinitializes its connection for a symbol to TS? Is there anything easier than restarting, hopefully which allows us to keep charts / workspaces loaded?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Restarting data source connection?
Hello Jeff,
What do you mean by "it kicks us out for the awhile, and then we can continue"?
Do you mean there are queued up MC data requests in TS download scheduler (TS->View tab->Launch Download Scheduler)?
If yes, have you tried to make a right click on the request->Schedule ASAP ?
