Hi,
The PowerLanaguge editor appears to be picking up the wrong version of an edited file.
I’m playing with getting this working: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11586
And I’ve been editing the file in VS2008. When I compile in VS2008 I get a build successful.
I then open the PowerLanaguge Editor and it is showing a cross and saying that the file is not compiled (see screen shot).
If I open the file in the PowerLanguage Editor is shows the old version of the file (i.e. with no changes).
Something happening with the MC Editor caching the file then not compiling it properly...
Thanks and regards,
drolles

futher tests
Hi,
I just did some additional tests here.
I created a new Signal (called testsig), it seem to compile fine.
I think edited in VS2008, the edits were not picked up.
I then closed all instances of MC (PowerEditor, Main, QuoteManager, Backtester), then reopened the file. It showed up the edits.
Again, I think MC is caching the old version somewhere.

more suspicious behaviour
Hi,
I’ve not seen this notification before in VS.
Just FYI as it might be related.

Re: Wrong version of .cs file
The problem has been analyzed during the live chat session.
It was suggested to update to MultiCharts .Net 8.1 beta 1 to fix the issue.

Re: Wrong version of .cs file
Henry,
Thanks for your continued help on this.
To provide you an update from my end...
I’m now tested this on my Dev PC. It is running MC 8.0 and VS 2010. It appears to be working with the MC PB. However, the main MC window, I’m not sure of the expected behaviour here.
Should it force an update if the signal is applied to a chart? If not, is there a short cut to reload from source?
Thanks,
drolles

That is correct, the study would be updated, recompiled and recalculated on the chart.Should it force an update if the signal is applied to a chart? If not, is there a short cut to reload from source?
We have reproduced this behaviour in our environment. Our developers are analyzing this situation. The PowerLanaguge editor appears to be picking up the wrong version of an edited file.
