Description

Volume profile can only plot now using tick data. A profile should be able to plot using either minute or TPO data.
When a user loads a profile chart, MC will attempt to download as much tick data as possible and create the volume profile chart. If no tick data exists, it shows text saying no volume available.
Rather than do this, MC should use minute bars instead. It should take the total volume within a minute bar determine it's high and low and evenly distribute the volume from the minute bar into the slot of the profile.
In addition to this, a user should have the option to use TPO data (some indices do not have volume information) In this case, MC should use the time spent in the range i.e. give the profile +1 for each slot that the bars range covers.
To summarize in order of precedence we should have:
1. Ability to use minute bars to generate volume profile information.
2. Give the user the ability to choose whether or not Volume or TPO information should be used.
3. Allow the user to define how much tick data to use or maintain.
The final option 3, seems like something that would be defined more at the symbol or database settings level.

Steps to reproduce this issue

Try to plot profile for SPY for 200 sessions.  Or a profile that spans the past 120 days.  If there is no tick data no profile can be drawn.

Volume Profile build from minutes is very usefull. Plese do it. And then you can add periods Month and Year (now there are bar, session, week.)
It would be verry helpful.
Thank you very much in advance.

Both Volume Profile drawing and the “classic” Volume Profile can be built out of minute and daily data now (which is faster than using ticks), without losing the ability of the in-depth volume analysis using the tick data.
