Description

Hi,
I use MC 8.5 64 bit version. I appreciate your software very much, but I miss an important feature. It is possible to change timeframes of a chart window via popup menu of 'Resolution' - Toolbar. There I can quickly switch, for example, from 1 to 5 minutes or from 15 to 30 seconds, but unfortunately it is not possible to switch from 1 to 4 hours.
Could you please implement a popup menu for the 'hour'-button in 'Resolution' Toolbar too? The timeframes I mostly miss, are 2,3,4,6,8 and 12 hours. It is really laborious to open the 'Format Instrument' window first and moving then to tab 'settings' to change from 1 to 4 hours for example.
Thanks a lot in advance

Steps to reproduce this issue

Go to Time Resolution Toolbar. Click on the hour button. There is no popup menu for different hourly timeframes.

Hallo, it's me again. Im really wondering, that noboby reads my feature request. I'm not expecting that the request is implemented in a few weeks, but an answer with a possible timetable for the release, where the feature request is taken into account, would be really nice.
I really need this feature, because I switch the timeframe of a chart several times per hour.
Thanks in advance

Your feature request is a duplicate of this http://www.multicharts.com/pm/viewissue.php?issue_no=MC-768

Hi,
first of all, thanks a lot for implementing the requested feature, but I still miss three impotant hourly timeframes. I miss 6, 8 and 12 hours timeframes. To understand the importance of these timeframes, you have to take a day, which consists of 24 hours. It's now very useful to split these day into 2, 3 and 4 equal parts. I do so very often and I guess other manual traders like to do the same. In my opinion you should substitude 5 hours with 6, 10 hours with 8 and 15 hours with 12, so the popup-list doesn't get any longer.
Thanks in adcance

Thanks, I have forwarded the feature request to our developers. It will be done in one of future versions of MC.

Hi,
with bated breath I await your next software update, to see if the correct hourly timeframes are implemented in time resolution toolbar. As not requested by me, but maybe by someone else, the popup menu for daily timeframes (1,2,3... days) in my opinion is useless for intraday-traders and is also more confusing than helpful. I think a timeframe of 1 Day, 1 Week and 1 Month is also absolute sufficient for daytraders and investors. So my question is, can you remove the popup-menu for daily timeframes again?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Over 3 months nothing happend regarding this issue. The feature is wrongly implemented. Please replace hourly timeframes with 2,3,4,6,8,12 and 24 hours and remove the popup-menu for daily-timeframes.
Thanks in Advance

Hi can you please add 6 minutes timeframe in popup dialog with next minor release? You can remove 60 minutes instead, it's quite useless, as 60 minutes are the same like one hour. Btw, if we speak about useless timeframes, you also can remove 24 hours timeframe from the hour-popup-dialog for the same reason (24 hours are the same like one day). For further logical simplification please remove 5, 10, 15 and 20 hours from the hour-popup-dialog, because you can't divide one day(24 hours) by a multiple of five without remainder.
Thx in Advance

Each user selects the timeframe he wants to, we are not planning to disable that functionality and take that functionality away from our customers.

No, I'm talking about the time-resolution-toolbar. This toolbar has pre-set timeframes. And this timeframes I requested to review.
I would like to add a screenshot, but It's not possible, because this issue already seemed to be closed.
