Description

Just as there is a function to draw rectangles, I would like a feature that allows to draw triangles.

Steps to reproduce this issue

The purpose is to define areas as seen on the screenshot.
These triangular zones are used to define patterns in 'harmonic trading'...

I am a harmonic pattern trader and am amazed that the ability to draw triangles is not a feature in MultiCharts.
I am hoping this is under review for the next version - I use eSignal, NinjaTrader and MetaTrader - all of these platforms feature the ability to draw triangles.

Of all the platforms I have seen to date (several), MultiCharts is the only platform that does not have a triangle drawing tool. It seems a bit odd that it does not exist in at least a basic form. I am guessing this is why I hardly ever hear any harmonic pattern traders talking about using the MC platform. Yeah, a person can just code an indicator for it (assuming they can program), or hire someone to do it for them. But, why would they choose to spend money on a platform when one of the basic tools they use is non-existent? They wouldn't.

I have reached out through a contact to offer to implement this feature. I already have 90% of it coded but need a little help from the Multicharts developers, specifically the PLStudiesProxy project to finish implementing the drawing logic.
I have already done the implementation needed in the PLTypes.dll file so hopefully I can get in touch with the right people and get this implemented for everyone.
I'm a pattern trader as well so I have a vested interest in this.

Agree it will be beneficial to Harmonic pattern users if triangle tool is available in MultiCharts.
I've go back to NinjaTrader to draw patterns and then flip back to MultiCharts.

I am amazed that MC is taking forever to implememnt this. I see Jasonnator has kindly offered help with the coding . Come MC what exactly is the problem. Its highly inconvenient to switch between ninjatrader and multicharts. Listen to your loyal customers please. OK pretty please :-)))
