This is a big one. Version control for our scripts.
Here is a ling with some discussion on this idea.

Added Ideas:
I think it should be simple to update. Every time a compile is clean a popup comes up which can be left blank or filled out with a comment. Date and time is added. Maybe some would want the popup turned off but I doubt it actually. It should certaily be defaulting to on so users know about it. If it is such that a check box allows the user to turn it off they should have a way of getting back to these checkbox removable items so they can find it again and turn it on later.
Users can determine how many versions are stored (50, 100, whatever).
They can pull out any version to a fresh module.
Of course they can list them in date/time order with comments showing.
They can compare versions to see the differences so they can decide what to return.
I do not think you will see users using the merge features too often so I would not bother with that.

Any professional programmer knows the value of proper version control. So, I wonder what has prevented this issue from getting implemented? Can we expect this in one of the future releases?
